Hassane is partner and Head of Intellectual Property at Shield Advocates and has more than 12 years of professional experience. His practice focuses on enforcing Intellectual Property Rights, advising on protection and enforcement of IP rights including trademarks, trade secrets, industrial designs, patents, copyrights, literary and artistic works. Hassane’s practice also concentrates on carrying out and supervising market investigations, anti-counterfeiting campaigns, and border measures achieving excellent results of successful raids with massive seizure of counterfeits. Hassane is known for his solid experience in negotiations with infringers resulting in numerous successful settlement deals. He also assumed first chair in several trademark battles and obtained several favorable judgments attesting to the well-known status of the client’s trademarks.

Prior to co-founding Shield Advocates, Hassan was a legal director and head of intellectual property rights department at a top tier law firm in Egypt for a period of two years and prior to that he was a head of IP Cairo Office at a top regional law firm in Egypt for a period of four years.

• Enforcement of The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (“FIFA”) Intellectual Property Rights over its trademarks, designs, emblems, and trophies, in addition to protection of its Ticketing rights over its organized events, specifically FIFA World Cup Russia 2018.
• Conducted several raids for 3M Company and successfully obtained favorable judgments against traders and importers in Cairo and other Governorates.
• Representing MS Commercial Ltd in the enforcement of the Football Player Mohamed Salah’s IP Rights over the use of his image and name.
• Represented both MBC and Middle East News in the enforcement of their Intellectual Property Rights against third parties infringing these rights.
• Representing Compagnie Financière Richemont SA (“Richemont”) in Egypt, in addition to advising them on the use image rights by Mont Blanc.
• Handling Enforcement Action for Johnson & Johnson in Egypt.
• Representing Thomas Cook in a tradename dispute and an unfair competition action.
• Advising Dar Al Nahda on their long-term agreement with the Egyptian Ministry of Education, in addition to several agreements with authors.
• Representing Nissan Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha (“Nissan”) in the prosecution of their trademark portfolio in Egypt, which included the registration of their marks and handling appeals and challenges.
